tUnE-yArDs second video from their w h o k i l l album ‘Gangsta’ almost looks as though the clip were made by a hyperactive child who discovered its parent’s hand-held camera and decided to make a movie using no lighting and no plot. That sounds like a bad thing right? Wrong! The clip goes implicitly well with the song and proves that you don’t need to spend a tonne of money to make an interesting video.
Loads of images flash before your eyes in quick succession - there’s a bit of interpretive dance, some guy sitting on a train and lead lady Merrill Garbus getting ready for a show. Although nothing actually happens or makes any sense at all the clip creates a frenzied and unsettling mood that leaves you feeling a bit weird and desperate to re-watch it in order to decipher what the fuck was going on.
