PREMIERE: William Crighton's 'Dig Your Mind' Video Blends Animation & Real Life To Spectacular Effect

The local singer-songwriter blurs the lines of reality in his latest clip.

More William Crighton William Crighton

Acclaimed Australian singer-songwriter William Crighton has unveiled the super-cool video for his new tune Dig Your Mind, blurring the lines of reality and providing a seamless integration of animated effects atop real-world locales.

Seeming at first like it's simply following a bloke out for a jog (albeit while wearing pluggers, not an ideal choice for running), he soon meets, and ends up being chased by, something pretty unsettling — a twisted, shadow version of himself — before he ultimately stumbles upon another visage of himself, chained and terrified, then frees himself and becomes a giant.

Look, we didn't say we understood it, but we do like it a lot; the track comes from Crighton's 2016 debut album, which, if you haven't heard it, you should track down immediately if you're a fan of good things.

What we do know is that Crighton is a heck of a performer, and local audiences will have ample chances to catch him in action this November on the road with Canadian muso Terra Lightfoot for their Stand On The Side Of Love tour, showcasing new material from Crighton's eagerly awaited second album, due for release in 2018.
