"We’ve put a lot of heart and soul into this single."
Melbourne alt-rock outfit Vermont tackle self-dissatisfaction with their first new single of 2019, producing soaring melodies and hard-hitting riffs in the process.
It’s the first cut from their self-titled debut EP, due for release on September 20, with frontman Joshua Swanwick telling The Music it’s a change of pace for them.
"We’ve put a lot of heart and soul into this single and really taken some time to mature our sound,” Swanwick said.
“Lyrically, I wanted the listener to get a real sense of what I was going through when I wrote it and to do that I couldn’t be vague, it had to be real and raw."
Its accompanying music video, premiering today via The Music, takes advantage of slow camera spins and glitchy film effects to convey the emotion in Swanwick’s lyrics.
