Apocalyptic bluegrass and synth-driven dark pop set the mood for Queensland artist Timothy James Wright’s Love Is A Wasteland and its new video is a stunning visual representation of that.
It was filmed in the captivating surroundings of Chillagoe, Northern Queensland, and is the first music video from producer Ewan Cutler; a fine debut from the Hudson Films talent who has a short film in the works.
"Chillagoe has these amazing caves and granite rocks everywhere,” Wright said.
“Plus an awesome abandoned smelter where we were originally going to film but couldn't get permission due to toxic slag.”
The track is a break-up song, with Wright stating: “It's about that point in a relationship when you know with your head that it's over and you need to move on but your heart doesn't want to hear it.”
Love Is A Wasteland is taken from a forthcoming album and you can catch it live later this month when Wright and co play two Cairns dates.
