Perth's The Money War impressed last year after releasing a smattering of tracks that radiated warmth in a dream-pop world. The duo are back today with a brand new single and video, Hollywood, premiering exclusively on theMusic.com.au.
Dylan Ollivierre, who wrote and produced the song, which conveys a sense of atmospheric despair, explained that "in the past year, Carmen [Pepper, vocals] and [he] both had people close to [them] pass away".
"There’s a hospital in Perth called ‘Hollywood’ and I always pondered its ironic name," he said.
"We were in LA when I got the news that a family member was passing away and the lyrics starting forming from there.

"We wanted the song to sound like a movie and we took production cues from that idea."
Hollywood is the first taste from The Money War's debut album which is due for release in early 2019.
