VIDEO PREMIERE: Romanie – ‘I'm Anything (But Myself Around You)’

The new single from Melbourne-based artist Romanie is an intimate, dreamy indie-pop gem titled I’m Anything (But Myself Around You).

Premiering today via The Music, the track’s accompanying video music was directed by Rick Clifford, “an absolute legend in his field.”

“I asked him if he wanted to work with me on my video clip and we started chatting about what the song was all about,” Romanie told The Music.

“I told him I have a VHS cam with which I try to capture my travels sporadically and he immediately thought it was a good idea to go out into nature and capture footage of me in Australia.

“If I look back to the music I’ve put out in a few years - wherever I will be, hopefully still in Australia - I’ll always have this cool video clip of me in this beautiful scenery.

“I think it’s turned out so well. Rick thinks in film stills and I admire his talent to turn every environment into art. I’m not very confident in front of a camera, which sometimes shows in the clip, but I think it suits the meaning of the song a lot.”
