After releasing their new single of post-punk meets alt-rock sounds New Disease last week, Adelaide-based five-piece Placement have followed it up with a fun and frantic DIY-style music video, premiering on Pilerats today!

Packing angular guitars, a tight rhythm section and dulcet vocals from Malia Wearn before the song-stealing sax kicks in, New Disease balances the melodic with the more experimental side of things to great effect.

Speaking on the single, the band explains “New Disease is about living through a historic moment with the rest of humanity. The ideas that run through the song are; faith, justification, trust, addiction, disease, control and the fear of something you can't control. When sickness still seems like a myth, when you live on an island with infection swirling in the waters around it how do you cope?

Meanwhile, the music video sees the band jamming out in a backyard (and in the house), filmed over one night with a party atmosphere. With some trippy editing, the videos pace picks up to match the energy of the song, resulting in a gorgeous audio visual package.

Give New Disease a watch as it premieres on Pilerats ahead of release:
