More Orsome Welles More Orsome Welles

Prog-laden Melburnian metal outfit Orsome Welles are on the warpath towards new EP Rise, preceding an impending four-date headline tour by unveiling the clip for their meticulous, mega-chuggy new cut Build A World, proudly premiering on The Music today.

The run of shows, with their good mates in Circles, is set to kick off this Friday, 16 September, at Adelaide's Enigma Bar, with additional performances lined up around the corner in Melbourne and up in Sydney. Orsome Welles also continue on to Canberra, where they'll be joined by Tundrel and Hallucinatorium at The Basement on Saturday 24 September.

Being the band's first video clip, they've gone to great lengths to concoct a creative and polished li'l package, and they've come out brilliantly the other side, securing the directorial/editing/cinematographic/SFX skills of the multi-talented Adrian Goleby (Caligula's Horse, Devin Townsend, The Ocean) to develop the concept as envisioned by the band. In addition to the group themselves — who star as a mad scientist and his test subjects — the clip also features performances from Colin Andrews and Jainish Prakash, and was filmed on location at Diamond Steel Engineering, in West Heidelberg, and Oneos' premises in Footscray.

"Creating Build A World has been an amazing experience for us," frontman Michael Stowers said in a statement. "From a backyard writing session all the way to our first-ever video clip, this song has allowed us to grow as a band like never before.
