Melbourne's The Motion Below have dropped the second and final clip in their mini music video series with Truth Hurts, which tells the story of the protagonist struggling to free himself from the chains of addiction.
Directed and produced by Martin Wood Imagery (LUNE, Vermont, Starve), the new video follows on from acclaimed track Dead Ends and builds on its narrative.
“We really wanted to try and tackle a multiple part story for a long time and as time went on and the conversation was had more often, we came to the conclusion that the struggles of addiction was a topic worth exploring,” The Motion Below told The Music.
“Addiction can be interpreted in many ways and we didn't want it to be your typical substance abuse song/s, which is why the actual addiction isn't exactly heavily played upon through the videos. It could be anything or multiple things.
“We knew we wanted the music to tell the story more so than the lyrics themselves so the slower, more sombre song accompanied by a much heavier song was where the idea began.

“From there our lyrical extraordinaire and heavy vocalist, Thomas [Katgert], created the story once the compositions were written in studio and the rest sort of pieced itself together.
“It was really fun to then push our vision even further by making them into the two-part music video. We haven't really delved into a specific concept in previous music videos so it was an awesome experience.
