“The siren call of the internet."
Melbourne producer Life Is Better Blonde's latest clip captures the moody ebbs and flows of new single Strange Organism to stunning effect while making a poignant statement on the double lives we lead on social media.
As director Johnny Maloney told The Music, the song is about “the siren call of the internet”, something he was trying to capture on screen.
"Some of us can't help but listen to its captivating melody a little too long, enraptured by it's alluring, though ultimately vapid, beauty,” he said.
“Immersing yourself so far into it, that you begin to conform to its ideals, change your life and self in ways as to be perfect. Like it pretends to be.
“In this case, that siren voice isn't from a beautiful bathing maiden, or some kawaii couple on instagram, but an octopus.”
The song itself was produced at Life Is Better Blonde’s Melbourne home alongside producer Andrei Eremin, who has previously worked alongside Hiatus Kaiyote and Chet Faker.
