"I was once a Wendy with a Peter of my own."
Melbourne indie pop artist KA-TYA, aka Katia Pshenichner, has unveiled a charming new studio video for her cut Peter.
Described as “the poignant and disarmingly sincere story of Wendy and her Peter”, the song employs a mixed bag of genres, moving from haunting melodies to synth-driven ballad sections and joyfully irreverent quirk-pop parts.
"I love how Regina Spektor's Samson takes a biblical myth and turns it into an intimate moment,” Pshenichner told The Music.
“I decided to do the same thing with the Peter Pan story, because I was once a Wendy with a Peter of my own."
Wanting to capture the intimacy of the song, Pshenichner enlisted New York director and actor Stephen Stocking to film its recording session, the results of which you can check out today via The Music.
