"A classic DIY job."

More Goldminds More Goldminds

The latest track from Aussie rockers Goldminds, Deadwood tackles fear, oppression, inequality, injustice and more.

Its accompanying music video, premiering today via The Music, sees the Melbourne outfit team with local filmmaker Aleesha Hardie and editor Simon Atkinson to great effect.

“For this clip, we had the fun challenge of shooting all footage independently; due to Melbourne lockdown,” Goldminds’ vocalist Coco told The Music.

“We always had the vision of shooting the band immersed in nature, so we were able to run with that idea and make it work regardless of restrictions. I’m lucky to live with a very creative friend who was able film me in a bush track we have access to behind our house and the guys got crafty in their backyards (a couple with the help of their fab girlfriends Jess and Sash).

“It was a classic DIY job that our mate Simon worked his editing magic on and it turned out better than expected!”

Hardie added: "Working under such restrictions can only restrict the way you work. If you have the ideas and visions, you can always find a way to execute that. It’s somewhat harder but you can always manage a way to make it work."
