"I like getting lost in my head."
Adelaide-based indie rocker Bec Stevens has channelled the emotive lyrics and anthemic qualities of her latest, They Don’t Build Cars Like This Anymore, into a fun video with a powerful underlying message.
Filmed and co-directed by Hayley Jessup, the new clip was inspired by Stevens ’ frequent bike rides through the parklands with her dog and articulates her attempts to escape the constant difficulties and hurdles life throws at her.
“Walking my dog is my only real escape from all of that. It’s my only down time. We walk for at least two hours at a time, sometimes by accident because I like getting lost in my head,” Stevens said.
They Don’t Build Cars Like This Anymore is the first taste of Stevens’ second EP, which is expected to drop next year via Hobbledehoy.
The new single gets an official launch at The Exeter Beer Garden on Nov 3.
