VIDEO PREMIERE: Aya Yves - 'Brave'

"This video was centered around me having a random thought that a piano would look really cool in a canola field."

More Aya Yves Aya Yves

Just weeks after its release, Aussie indie pop artist Aya Yves is today premiering the official music video for Brave right here on theMusic.com.au!

Written around the idea of "being scared of new relationships" the Canberra-based songwriter told The Music that the vision for the clip was quite specific.

"This video was centered around me having a random thought that a piano would look really cool in a canola field," Yves said.

"Like most of my whack ideas, I needed to talk to someone who could tell me if it was feasible. So I called my friend Neil who lives out in Junee and asked him about the canola fields around there. He said all the fields around there had already lost their flowers, but put me in touch with someone who could help.

"I found out quickly that it was quite late in the season for canola, and we were told all the flowers would be gone in a week.

"I needed a piano and had seen all the work the Piano Rescuers had been doing around Canberra so gave Mathias a call and he was super keen to be on board, which was no small feat!

"Putting a piano in a canola field is exactly as difficult as you'd expect it to be. I called Declan & Steph that afternoon and we shot two days later."
