The song is the second single to come from this year's 'Coming Of Age' EP.
Ascendant Brisbane outfit Age Champion are continuing their support for this year's EP, Coming Of Age, with the arrival of new single Ivy League, the accompanying video for which theMusic.com.au is proud to be premiering today.
The clip is directed by local filmmaker Gregory Kelly, taking the tried-and-true format of "band plays in a living room" and giving it a colourful twist by way of some clever, eye-catching lighting choices.
The song itself is a bit more ambitious than its predecessor, being a five-and-a-half-minute-long jam that starts slow and restrained before bursting forth with the group's trademark alt-rock energy a couple of minutes in. Things pull back again once more before the final climax, an all-out foot-stomper of a finale that brings big energy and big riffs in spades.
Age Champion released the seven-track Coming Of Age EP back in March, with first single Death In America preceding its release. They have an upcoming show this month, on 13 October, at the Woolly Mammoth, with Port Royal and WHALEHOUSE.
