With the festival's biggest year yet set to go down late next month, The Drop is fearing up to return for its second national tour. The festival brings together big names in music and professional surfing for a weekend united by a love for the ocean.
This year's lineup boasts a huge array of acts including Angus & Julia Stone, Client Liaison, Hockey Dad, The Jungle Giants and heaps more.
The Drop will be hitting the shores of Coolangatta, Torquay and Busselton WA, taking place on the first weekend of each coinciding surfing event of the World Surf League tour. There's also going to be two additional stops coinciding with the WSL Qualifying Series events, Surfest Newcastle & the Vissla Sydney Surf Pro in Manly.
In celebration of the sunny tour, a few of the artists on the bill put together some of their summer tour essentials they can't live without. Read below!

Angus and Julia Stone
Sunscreen. The Aussie sun is brutal and i never leave the house without sunscreen.
Hockey Dad
As we mostly have to fly into our shows in Aus, we tend to fill our luggage allowance with just music gear and a backpack full of clothes. Although its a necessity to bring a set of dice along for whenever you feel the need to throw down.
The Jungle Giants
A portable speaker. It’s essential for hotel kick-ons, a pre show green room doof or punishing our tour manager on a drive somewhere (sorry Antho!). Tis most essential.
Alex the Astronaut.
I usually take a little portable speaker and some swimmers if I’m touring in summer. I think having music in the hotel or on the beach or wherever you’re going makes it feel like home so much more. I always bring swimmers just in case too because it’s so sad when there's a pool or beach and you forget.
