Off the back of his feel-good debut EP 'Into The Light', we asked Brisbane producer Feki for his top five places to visit in Tokyo.

It's a big day for FEKI, one of Brisbane's most loved electronic producers. He's just dropped his debut EP Into The Light, a six-track collection of glittery and ethereal bangers, with features from WoodesPolar Heart and Glades.

The debut has been a long time coming for Feki. He's consistently been dropping dense electronic cuts like 2017's 'Love You Better' and 'Run Away', earning him well deserved accolades from Triple J Unearthed, and spots at countless festivals - FOMOSplendour in the GrassListen Out and Spilt Milk just to name a few. His glitzy, feel-good sound is best showcased on 'Don't Doubt' featuring Olivia Reid. Bursting with bright synth leads and dense production, the track is an ode to chasing your dreams and not giving up.

Speaking on his EP, Feki said, "It’s taken me far too long to put together a body of work that I can sit back and be proud of. This whole musical journey up to this point has been somewhat of an emotional rollercoaster. At times it’s felt like I’ve been trapped in a dark tunnel and the only way to escape is to just give in and let the darkness take over. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel, there is a hope bigger than all of us that can pull us out of our darkest midsts, You just have to be willing to look for it and not give up the fight. You do that, you’ll then start to see that light getting bigger and bigger, closer and closer. Soon enough you’ll find yourself stepping out of that dark tunnel and ‘Into The Light’.That’s what this EP embodies for me so I hope some of it will resonate with you. Thank you everyone for all the love and support over the years, expect more from me real soon. ♥️"

While in Tokyo shooting a music video for 'Don't Doubt', Feki and his team spent some time seeing the sights, soaking in the culture, and eating loads of ramen. Inspired by the good vibes of his debut EP, we asked Feki for his top five places to visit if you find yourself in Tokyo.

1.Park Hyatt Tower (New York Grill)

This place was amazing. The only thing better than the live music and food in this classy restaurant was the view 360 view of the whole city. From 54 floors up, it was cityscape as far as the eye could see. A real concrete jungle.

2. Harajuku (Takeshita Street)

I have never seen a more busy street on a Monday night. If you’re not a fan of overcrowded areas than you’re missing out on all the atmosphere this street brings. We shot one our scenes on this street, it was a bit of a struggle but the shot was worth it. Can’t wait for you guys to see this video.

3. Shibuya Crossing (View From Starbucks)

This one is a bit of a cliche I guess but it’s definitely worth mentioning. The view from the Starbucks overlooking the Shibuya crossing was mesmerising. Watching the endless number of people and cars crossing the intersection was almost therapeutic in a way. We were also blessed with an amazing sunset backdrop whilst shooting here for one of the scenes. Truly beautiful.

4. Ichiran Ramen

I’ve had some good ramen here in Australia, but nothing compares to Ichiran. Easily the best ramen I’ve ever had. Definitely worth the 1 hour wait to be seated.

5. Walking Around (Shinjuku to Chiyoda Park)

Me and my bro, Ben, walked from Shinjuku to Chiyoda park (7km walk). The walk was great, however we were pretty stupid and decided to start our walk at midday in 35degree heat. To make things worse the humidity was at 70% so it felt like it was 45 degrees. But I will say walking around Tokyo was by far my favourite thing to do, even in that heat. We saw so many cool little alleyways, shrines and buildings that we would’ve surely missed had we just taken a cab. Definitely worth it.

Into The Light is out now. Buy/stream here.
