Furthering the hype and excitement that has been brewing for close to three years, The War On Drugs have shared yet another beautiful cut from their new record A Deeper Understanding (which is dropping later this month) and boy, is it shaping up to be something special. Making it 4 from 4 in terms of the previews of the new record, the new track is titled Pain and sonic tug at the heart strings. Through the twinkly synths and a towering guitar number, frontman Adam Granduciel pours out “Hold me close and let me pull you in, give me a deeper understanding of who I am, yeah, I'm movin' back again, but I'm ready now”. Debuting the track earlier this week via a performance on Radio 104.5, Pain add’s to the feeling that A Deeper Understanding could very well be the best record we have heard from The War On Drugs yet.

A Deeper Understanding is due for release August 25th via Atlantic Records.
