Critically acclaimed American indie band THE MOUNTAIN GOATS are set to bring their storytelling tunes to the stages of Australia this May. Their album 'All Eternals Deck' was released last year and had Pitchfork boasting it to be “paradoxically passionate but controlled, uncompromising but instantly likable, All Eternals Deck is a certain career highlight for Darnielle”.
The title of the album refers to a fictional set of Tarot cards, the history and details of which are described in the liner notes. 'All Eternals Deck' was recorded in four different studios, each with their own producer. The effect is apparent, with the different moods, seasons and locations playing into each differing song. These kinds of innovations have bolstered John Darnielle's reputation as one of the most creative songwriters of this generation.
