Let's start with your name and what you do in the band?

Don't miss a beat with our FREE daily newsletter

My name is Brett and I sing.

Tell us a bit about how you guys got together?

We all played in local bands in our area when we were teenagers and when Far and I started writing songs together, we just roped in our friends from those bands.

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard you before?

Melodic rock? Like pop punk but a little heavier I guess!

When and why did you decide you wanted to play music?

Probably in my early teens when I got really into Nirvana, The Smashing Pumpkins and Jeff Buckley, after that I just wanted to be around music as much as I could in anyway that I could.

What are you most looking forward to about playing Push Over 2010?

The atmosphere I think. It’s gonna be an amazing day a few of our friends are playing the show as well so I think its just gonna be real good hangout, that and checking out as many bands that I haven’t seen as I can.

Any particular bands you would like to see on the bill?

Do you mean bands that aren’t already on the bill? If you could get Horsell Common to add an extra date at Push Over to their farewell tour that would be much appreciated thanks!

What is the best thing about playing an all ages festival like Push Over?

The fact that the festival showcases the best of bands that spend a lot of time touring their asses off but aren’t big or super well known I think is great, that and Melbourne all ages shows aren’t too easy to come by so to stick so many good bands in one place is gonna be great for punters.

What motivates the band to play music?

It's our biggest passion and it’s amazing to get to drive around the country and play shows to people who otherwise wouldn’t get to hear us. Also the fact that even though we are not a big band at all, I never thought when I was singing the shit out of Hit or Miss in my bedroom that I would ever get to play shows around the country. We are pretty much motivated to play all the time.

What can people expect from your live show?

We are definitely going to have a whole bunch of new stuff up our sleeve so we can’t wait to show people the new songs other than that hopefully a shit-load of fun and a sing-a-long!

Tell us what the band has planned for 2010?

We have just finished recording our debut album "Somewhere Safe" so we are going to release that soon and spend the rest of the year in the van as much as humanly possible.

What was the last album you put on your iPod and how did you get into the band?

The Avett Brothers - I and Love and You - I cant remember how I found them probably just cruising around online but the record is amazing been listening to it non stop for the last month.

Which member has the most annoying habit?

Me - I don’t drive. Shits the boys off like you would not believe.

What is your favourite Die Hard movie?

Die hard 2! "Hey, Carmine, let me ask you something. What sets off the metal detectors first? The lead in your ass or the shit in your brains?"
