"Josh then proceeded to try and throw the TV off the balcony of our hotel room."
Operation grapevine rave, aka Hot Dub Wine Machine, is officially underway, having kicked off with a sunshine-soaked, ripper of a day down in Tassie last weekend.
The di-vine wine-up has been hand-picked by the time-travelling lord himself, a very ripe bunch of Australian producers, bands and DJs and in honour of Hot Dub Wine Machine (and glorious red, red wine), we get to know some of the goonie gang.
The Olympian basketball heroine is trading the slam dunks for a slammin’ set at Wine Machine. DJ Liz Cambage has already backed it up for rapper Desiigner’s FOMO sideshows and ruffled feathers DJing the Birdcage at the Melbourne Cup.

Most likely to do what after drinking wine? Suggest t-shirt swapping or dress ups.
Best/worst wine-drinking experience? Best - experiencing my first-ever cheese plater with matching wines. Worst - drinking goon at a camping festival as a teenager on a 40-degree day. Horrible idea!
Favourite wine drinking song: After a couple with the girls, the '00s pop bangers always come out. Britney Spears - Toxic is my go-to.
After the beautiful, accomplished sophomore full-length release that was All Possible Futures last year, Miami Horror have just released Leila, the first single off their upcoming art-funk/Caribbean/percussive-pop EP The Shapes, and Wine-Dubbers will be among the first to hear the new material live.
Wine Type: Californian Chardonnay
Most likely to do what after drinking wine? Ben: I tend to opt for deep and meaningfuls as soon as the glass touches my lips!
Best/worst wine-drinking experience? One time at Southbound Festival, the rest of the guys in Miami Horror had a few too many wines, and ended up climbing the scaffolding during Yacht Club DJs set, and getting kicked out of the festival (that we were playing at!). Josh then proceeded to try and throw the TV off the balcony of our hotel room a few hours later. Ah, those were the days…
Favourite Wine Drinking Song: Fleetwood Mac - Dreams
Fresh from sets at Secret Garden, and the Let them Eat Cake official afterparty, Mimi brings her R&B, rap and old school selections to the Yarra Valley Wine Machine dancefloor.

Most likely to do what after drinking wine? Make myself laugh! And make you laugh!
Best/worst wine-drinking experience? I once dropped my phone into a full glass of wine. And laughed at it just sitting there in the drink, and continued on partying, with no cares in the world. The next day, I went to the repairs shop to try get it repaired for free - when they asked me if there was any water damage involved I said, “No, definitely not water-damaged!” Because it technically wasn’t water, you know?!
Favourite Wine Drinking Song: Donna Summer — I Feel Love
Wine Type: Sports Sparkling
Most likely to do what after drinking wine? Make a speech! My friends know how much I revel in getting a bit tipsy and then making a big show of literally standing on some sort of platform (or a platform in my platforms) and making a big speech about how special and important everyone is individually and collectively. Everyone tends to roll their eyes a bit but they know it's nice and affectionately forgive me. It's known that for one of my birthdays I’m going to be given a small, perhaps even mobile podium.
Best/worst wine-drinking experience? Gosh! Well, I’m a sucker for sparkling wine. Especially because it’s a celebration drink – which is also not as bad for you as a lot of alcohol can be in excess, nay even GOOD for you in moderation. I feel like through my passion for bubbles there has been likewise a small bubbles enthusiast community bread around me within my DJ friends. So in a lot of photos were always drinking sparkling/champagne and this is a nice feeling to be in a community of enthusiasts who are always celebrating/playing music, cheers’ing & getting each other glasses! Sometimes they really pile up behind the decks and I wouldn’t have it any other way. B2Bubbles.
Favourite Wine Drinking Song: The Doors – Light My Fire
Young Franco brings the bounce to Wine Machine off the back of a European tour and an Aussie headline tour with UV Boi.
Wine Type: Cabernet Franc-o
Most likely to do what after drinking wine? Get super sleepy!
Best/worst wine-drinking experience? Best - drinking wine on top of the Eiffel Tower with my Wine Machine co-agent Sports!
Favourite Wine Drinking Song: Bob Marley — Red Red Wine
Tina Says has pretty much been raised in the club, having DJ'd hundreds of shows in Perth, as well as festivals such as Wonderland, Castaway and Southbound. Her single Check It, saw her undertake an Australian tour in late 2016, including a stint at EMC Sydney. Wine Machine-goers can expect to hear a set of house and rap burners, mixed with Tina Says own edgy originals.
Wine Type: Tina Tempranillo
Most likely to do what after drinking wine? Dance like a fool and talk someone's ear off…followed by not remembering a thing.
Best/worst wine-drinking experience? I went along to show my support for a friend’s daytime dance event launch early this year – at the time there were a few wins happening in both of our lives so we decided to celebrate with a few too many bottles of wine. Add in the sunshine and suddenly I lost three hours of the day. Apparently, I was speaking made-up words and eating pizza in the corner! When I snapped back to reality, everyone had gone and left me behind!
Favourite Wine Drinking Song: Sofi Tukker – Drinkees
