The Food & Drinks You Need To Try At Huon Valley Mid-Winter Fest

One of the things Tasmania’s Huon Valley Mid-Winter Festival has become known for is its amazing selection of local produce.

Here’s what some of this year’s artists will be picking off the menu.

The Ramshackle Army

Dinner - Anything with cheese and the plethora of options made my heart skip a beat (that could also be from all the cheese I eat). Perhaps some mac and cheese, or a good old fashioned toastie, there are some many options. The best in comfort food for that time of year.

Dessert - Can I have more cheese? Otherwise I find it hard to say no to a donut, especially cinnamon types.

Drink - I'm a wine fan; a good red is great for the chillier months. But I'm also keen to see what ciders there are in store. I'm still a bit of a cider novice and very excited to get some good educating in the field.

The Dead Maggies

We can't go past Willie Smiths Cider, we could drink that all day, and sometimes we do. Throw in a Mountain Pepper Pizza and some Lady Hester sourdough donuts to wash the cider down with.

Grim Fawkner

To be fair, I'm probably gonna eat Big Henry's food truck Poutine for breakfast, lunch, and tea. I'm a growing boy. Wash it down with the Willie Smith's original. Can't go wrong.

The Scrims

Dinner – Poutine, because it’s a great winter food and I was born in Canada (where this dish originates).

Dessert - Donuts to give us muscles to play our instruments.

Drink - Willie Smith's Apple Cider! Delish.

The Stragglers

Can't wait to eat a wallaby burger from Coburg & Co, so delicious, sustainable and local. Very excited to drink a warm mulled cider from Willie Smith’s, the best thing for a winter’s night EVER, and for dessert we'll be selecting a cold brew espresso martini from Villino Coffee to keep us going through the weekend with style!

Silk ’N’ Oak

Cheese Louise looks like the place to go for burgers. They are always killer and this looks like it will be worth trying.

Willie Smith’s Cider will be the drink of choice! We look forward to the festival. A whole new experience.
