The 11 Best Music Videos of the Week | 2023 Week 8

Music videos are artistic extensions of the songs themselves, with many visual accompaniments becoming just as, if not more iconic than the song it was created for. As usual, some of our favourite songs of the week also had some of our favourite videos, with this week's list including new videos from Atmosphere, August Burns Red, Body Type, Hannah Jadagu, Miss Tiny, Ocean Alley, RVG, San Cisco, Tiny Ruins, Unknown Mortal Orchestra & Yaeji!

Atmosphere - Okay

Veteran Minneapolis hip-hop duo Atmosphere drop a narrative-driven, alien themed video for their reassuring new single Okay.

August Burns Red - Reckoning (feat. Spencer Chamberlain)

A trippy, psychedelic 3D CGI video accompanies the epic new 8-minute single from metalcore mainstays August Burns Red, featuring Spencer from Underoath.

Body Type - Miss The World

After dropping their acclaimed debut album last year (that made our top 10 Aussie albums of the year!), Body Type announced their follow-up, Expired Candy (out June 2), with punchy new single I Miss The World, alongside a sentimental collage & 8-bit inspired music video.

Hannah Jadagu - What You Did

At just 20-years old, New York-based emerging artist Hannah Jadagu has signed to Sub Pop, announced her debut album Aperture (out May 19) and released her new single of catchy lofi indie pop alongside a charming music video.

Miss Tiny - The Sound

Shot in stylish black & white and showcasing London's late night underground train services seedier side, the video for The Sound is as paranoid and claustrophobic sounding as the singles post-punk sound.

Ocean Alley - West Coast

Music videos inspired by video games are nothing particularly new (check out our 10 favourites of all-time), but we are loving the recent trend this year that Ocean Alley continue on their Grand Theft Audio-inspired new video, complete with awkward walking, minimaps, clothes customisations, loading screens and yes, some actual grand theft auto.

RVG - Nothing Really Changes

Much loved Aussie four-piece announced their third studio album Brain Worms (out May 2), with their sultry, slow-building new single of rock & roll goodness, alongside an eerie mansion-set video.

San Cisco - Lost Without You

Iconic West Aussie indie-pop three-piece San Cisco dropped their first new music in three years with the delightful new single Lost Without You, the first single from the band's forthcoming fifth studio album, set for release later this year. Alongside the single comes the Bonnie & Clyde/60s new wave cinema/B-grade detective film inspired music video, shot on location in Ipswich.

Tiny Ruins - Dorothy Bay

New Zealand-based indie folk four-piece Tiny Ruins announced their fourth album Ceremony (out April 28) with the beguiling new single Dorothy Bay, featuring a beautifully nature-themed music video.

Unknown Mortal Orchestra - Nadja

Emotional, personal, cinematic storytelling vibes abound on the video for UMO's latest single as they announce their new album V (out March 17).

Yaeji - Done (Let's Get It)

Hands down the winner of cutest music video of the week goes to Yaeji and the second single/music video combo from her highly anticipated debut album With A Hammer (out April 7).
