Sydney Fringe Festival 2016: The Spirit & The Maiden

Answered by: Therese Milanovic

Name of show: The Spirit & The Maiden

Describe your show in a tweet? Muses celebrate music composed and performed by women, honouring trailblazers and inspiring those who dare to dream and set the world alight with their creativity.

Why did you decide to do Fringe this year? After four seasons of beautiful chamber music and a highly successful CD launch at Boggo Road Gaol for the Anywhere Festival in Brisbane earlier this year, the Muses are excited to make their debut for the Sydney Fringe Festival.

Tell us a bit about the creative team working on this project? The Muses Trio are some of Australia's leading and most exciting musicians in contemporary classical music, known for their edgy, spine tingling and virtuosic performance style: Christa Powell (violin), Louise King (cello) and Therese Milanovic (piano).

What will make you stand out in the Fringe crowd? Muses Trio offer a thrilling glimpse into the lives of women in music with a rare opportunity to experience the energy and intimacy of live chamber music, and hear anecdotes about the composers being performed.

When and where is your Fringe show? 15 - 17 Sep, Sound Lounge, Seymour Centre.
