After whipping up a storm in 2016 with the guest-heavy Stamina EP, Australian club gun Swick has returned, reuniting with Stamina collaborator Spank Rock for an addictive new single in Polo Love. In true Swick fashion, Polo Love is a lively and energetic single, zipping with quirky sampling and a particularly heavy emphasis on percussion, especially in the snapping breakdowns. The unexpectedly smooth and echoing vocals of Avalanches live collaborator and rapper Spank Rock helps keep things accessible and easy-to-digest for those unused to Swick's left-field productions, which bounces around in the background of Spank Rock's velvety groove. On his single Offside last year, we said that Swick was a force that would make you "fall in love with Australian club music" - a statement which still holds true some six months later - but with further releases and tours under his belt for the rest of the year, 2017 is the year that Swick and the rest of the Australian NLV Records cohort not only makes you fall in love with Australian club music if you're still unaware but instead, makes you admit that it's your favourite sub-genre around.
