"We wanted to bring the song into 2020."
After signing to Nettwork Records, Melbourne-based buskers turned folk pop sensations Woodlock have re-recorded one of their earliest and most enduring songs, Lemon, and The Music is rapt to be premiering it before it's release tomorrow.
Co-produced by Jackson Barclay (Vera Blue, Winterbourne, Timberwolf), Lemons (The Lime Version) is a diamond in the rough polished into a true crowning achievement.
"If any song was a defining song for us it would be Lemons," says singer-guitarist Zechariah Walters.
"It's a song that took us from a couple of guys having a good time singing to what would become our career path.
"So when we recorded it at the time we had no idea what it was we were doing. We were just excited to be in a studio. Now seven years later we wanted to bring the song into 2020. And give it the energy and excitement it deserved."
