Rock outfit The Wildbloods are following up their delicious recent single Amy Baby with bangin' new track Red Box, the next taste of what's to come from the Sydney band on their upcoming full-length, All The Adversity.

The new tune, premiering on theMusic.com.au today, comes alongside the announcement of an eight-date east-coast tour to support the album, which is set for release this month and follows on from the band's well-received 2015 self-titled debut EP. The Wildbloods bare their teeth on the snarling, urgent track, a ferocious, fuzz-laden statement of intent that only serves to heighten the excitement around this promising band.

This is a band who are still finding themselves, to a degree, a fact they're all too happy to cop to in discussing the way that Red Box — a notably more aggressive song than much of The Wildbloods' work — came together during the recording sessions, especially with frontman Johnny Wildblood expanding his horizons in the process.

"This is one of the heavier tracks on the album," the band explained in a statement. "Our producer, Daniel Antix, suggested that Johnny sing this particular song with a bit more aggression, rasp and 'oomph’ especially towards the end of the track when everything is building.

"At first, we were a bit reluctant on the idea but after a few listens back we realised that not only did this give the song the energy that it needed, but it also gave the album a bit more depth. This song went from being one of our least favourite tracks to one of our favourites."

The Wildbloods will kick off their tour at home in Sydney with a show at the Oxford Art Factory on Friday 19 May; they then head through Newcastle, Melbourne, Echuca, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Sydney again and Wollongong, where they close out at Dicey Riley's on Saturday 17 June.
