Emergent Melburnian four-piece The Velvet Addiction are following the splash of their debut single Take Me Back with rockin' new cut I Won't Go, premiering today on theMusic.com.au.
Heavy with classic-rock vibes, call-and-response chorus lines and a wailing guitar solo, the new song carries many a sonic hallmark of the rock greats of years past, but takes a surprisingly wholesome tack when it comes to its lyrics, vocalist Stefan West explaining in a statement that the song is "about unwavering support in any kind of relationship".
"It's about saying, 'I'll be there, no matter what, until the end," he said.
"In the end, whatever the outcome, it's that love can and will conquer all."

It's a theme that has permeated the band's work thus far, and unquestionably works to their credit. It's a fact that was obvious even on their previous track, which swiftly picked up radio airplay on Triple M and even made its way to rage.
This song, too, solidly captures the band's bountiful live energy — partially the result of their on-the-fly approach to recording, guitarist Aaron Bach says.
"We spent all of a couple of hours putting this track together and we just left it as it was; it feels like everything is in its place," Bach said in a statement. "The message is loud and clear; you can shake your ass to this song! It's how rock'n'roll should be."
The band will be adding to their growing gigging history with a pair of launch shows for the single later this month and early next, hitting Frankie's Pizza, in Sydney, on Saturday 24 June, and playing a home-town show at Revolver on Saturday 1 July. See theGuide for more info.
