It's not long until Adelaide's own The Man Himself is dropping his debut, self-titled EP. It's next month, in fact.
"It is something I thought about for ages, but then just got motivated to work on fairly spontaneously. I produced it at home with whatever was lying around, and handed it over to Craig Lewis at Mixmasters Studios to polish up and master," says The Man Himself.
"I wanted to make something without thinking about it too much first, and to use sounds I haven't played with in bands. So I turned to synths and loops, and just went with it."
The Music is stoked to be premiering The Man Himself's debut single, Blood Red Cape, today. The track came about with an unusual source of inspiration.
"It was written when I heard that the producers of the new Wolf Creek TV series — a friend was working on it — were looking for songs. I decided to write something pretty dark that mentioned wolves and blood and menace," he explains.
"I turned it out in about a day and a half, and sent it through, but that still wasn't quick enough to beat them to it. Their loss. But it meant I ended up with a song I would never have written otherwise, and probably my favourite track from the EP."
