ThandoZimbabwean-born, Melbourne-based songstress Thando has quite the treat for your Friday in the form of her smooth as heck single Numb, premiering on theMusic.com.au.
The track features the unmistakable rap prowess of Remi alongside Thando’s powerful vocals, trap-esq beats and an earworm of a hook. Within its slick sound the strong track contains a pertinent message about the challenges that Australia’s facing at the moment.
“Numb is a song written about my experiences trying to confront feeling ostracized,” the singer said.
“On a personal level however, I’m addressing being an ‘African Youth’ who has grown up in Australia. Topics concerning ‘belonging’ and ‘race’ have been focused on by mainstream media, (especially as of late) and this had me reflecting on my place in this country and where I truly belong.”
