Perth-based dream pop outfit Segue (fka Segue Safari) have dropped a taste of their upcoming debut album with lead single Gloves Off.
After a whirlwind few years, dishing up two EPs, supporting the likes of Cate le Bon, Methyl Ethel and also scoring a slot on Falls Freo, the band took a step back, spending the past several months as a “quietly evolving force”.
Their return not only introduces a new name, but new live line-up, which includes now includes Aaron Goode (Ryan Beno) and Michael Jelinek (Felicity Groom, Leopard Lake, Gunns).
“It was really great having the space to push the production on this one a bit harder than we've done in the past - it's the first track that we've released before playing it in our live set,” Segue’s Jeremy Segal said.

“Gloves Off is probably the track that's most indicative of the overall vibe of the album, both sonically and emotionally.
“I kind of wanted it to sound comfortably tense, anxious but with an underlying sense of safety.”
Gloves Off is taken from upcoming album Primary Ties; you can hear the single live at the band’s belated hometown launch in July.
