Melbourne four-piece rockers Mount Defiance are a few weeks out from releasing their new EP, Yankee Flat, and ahead of its arrival theMusic.com.au is proud to premiere their jangly, feelgood new single Teamwork.
Pitched as being about "feeling like the best version of yourself when you are with other people" (as well as making coffee for those people), the song's catchy, driving soundscape carries a distinctly Aussie-fied indie-punk vibe that highlight's the band's strength for conversational, metaphor-laced narrative, with more than a little of the likes of Modern Baseball in its lyrical and stylistic DNA.
Yankee Flat, recorded at Mount Helen's Homestead Studios, is due for release on 4 August.
Teamwork will be available this Friday, 16 June.
In between, the band will be launching the EP with a special show at The Workers Club, Melbourne, on Friday 28 July, with their mates in Press Club and Jo Neugebauer.
