More Hobart Curtis More Hobart Curtis

Emergent Brisbane singer-songwriter Hobart Curtis is back in the spotlight with another sunny slice of indie-pop sweetness in the form of new single Hits, proudly premiering with The Music today.

The up-and-coming muso last turned heads in July with his previous single Am I Crazy? and the new work further serves to deliver on the copious promise he demonstrated in that earlier track. Although infused with a palpable airiness and ethereal vibe that is nonetheless underpinned by a driving sense of purpose and intent.

It's been an eventful past couple of years for the Queensland muso, who first stepped out with debut single Jackpot in February last year, going on to accrue airplay not only on the stalwart Unearthed digital platform — as did Am I Crazy?, by the way — but triple j's main station itself.

Hits, as his third single, is his most assured release to date, and puts the young performer in a strong position ahead of the clean slate that is 2017. No doubt he's got some big plans in the works, so it'll be worth making room for this guy on your radar over the next little while. You'll be glad you did.
