SINGLE PREMIERE: Em George – 'Metropolis’

The new single from Sydney-based singer-songwriter Em George is about “past and present memories fusing together, altering perspectives, confusing perceptions and how this affects trauma and how we see and experience it”.

Premiering today via The Music, Metropolis is the first taste of George’s forthcoming EP.

“Musically, what first sparked my love for songwriting and music were the sounds of Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Carole King, Stevie Nicks and the sounds of Laurel Canyon,” she tells.

“Metropolis feels like I've finally created a song that takes on those muses, challenges them, and incorporates them with my own style.

“It feels like my most authentic self, and this is quite scary to put out there because it exposes parts of me I usually keep hidden. It is challenging me in the best way.”

Metropolis follows on from two EPs, Em George and Wolves.
