Single title? Amy
What's the song about? Amy is an upbeat pop punktastic plea of love. A guy has a very big crush on his female friend.
How long did it take to write/record? There were two main recording sessions: first Perth then Oslo, Norway about two years later. Oslo was cold which surprisingly seemed to rev me up for the sessions!
Is this track from a forthcoming release/existing release? Amy 7" single in pink, blue, green and black, out via Sweden's Beluga Records. Self-titled album out on CD and LP October 6 via Melbourne's Off the Hip Records.
What was inspiring you during the song's writing and recording? 'Old school' pop punk at its '90s peak - bands like Blink 182 and Green Day. A hopeful plea of love and attention that just had to be delivered with tonnes of conviction.
Do you play it differently live? Live is 3D of course so there's some jumping around stage and quite often fans show off their dancing which turns up the energy levels even louder!
When and where is your launch/next gigs? We're heading out for the 'Amy Tour playing Europe, the US, then in Perth for the 'Fantastico Power Pop Party' 25 Nov 25 at Four5Nine Bar.
