Single title? Oh Loretta!

What’s the song about? The song is ostensibly about a girl called Loretta, but it’s really about wanting to live by the sea-side.

How long did it take to write/record? Well we don’t really clock on/clock off like your average musicians, we kind of ‘vibe it out’. Maybe 20 minutes on both? It takes me an hour just to tie my shoes!

Is this track from a forthcoming release/existing release? Yes, it will be featured on an EP called Ready. It’s also coming out on 7” single, and I play it off my phone on the South Morang line between 1–3 on weekdays (selected services).

What was inspiring you during the song’s writing and recording? To be funky! Funky socks, funky shoes, funky middle bit, funky lift off and funky landing! You know what I mean?

We’ll like this song if we like... Well I don’t want to make a spurious correlation here but I reckon the answer to this question is ‘figs’.

Do you play it differently live? The band is full of jazz musicians so good luck trying to get them to play the something the same way twice! Buon natale, baby.

When and where is your launch/next gig? We are launching the video for the single 19 Jun at Goodgod Small Club.
