Finally Returning To Australia, Faithless Are Paying Homage To The Beloved Maxi Jazz While Looking To The Future

Single Focus: Ricky Dean & The Dream Machine

Answered by: Ricky Dean
Single title? Patiently Waiting
What's the song about?: A four-minute reflection on breaking out into the wide open Nullarbor. A keenness to skip town, not trailing the past.
How long did it take to write/record? I had the chords and melody written for a while. Six months later the song found the right path it was meant to be on so to speak
Is this track from a forthcoming release/existing release? The track Patiently Waiting is a single off our soon to be released self-titled album, due for release later this year.
What was inspiring you during the song's writing and recording? Reflecting on time: the desire to leave mundane routines for a splash of life on the road. It's the centrepiece to my own reckoning of leaving behind my job, my friends, etc for new challenges.
We'll like this song if we like... To not feel trapped.
Do you play it differently live? No, unless it's an unplugged Ricky Dean solo set.
When and where is your launch/next gigs? Thursday 12 July, Buffalo Club, Hidden Treasures, Fremantle. Also catch Ricky Dean solo at "The River", Margaret River on Saturday 14 July for The Lock-in, Cabin Fever.
