Single title? Baggage Of The Past
What's the song about? Not being set in your ways, realising you're not set in stone, mind over matter, adapting to the present.
How long did it take to write/record? 30 minutes, then Joel Quartermain (Eskimo Joe) sat me down and said, "Great song but it hasn't got a fucking chorus," and the bastard locked me in the booth for three hours and I caught one.
Is this track from a forthcoming release/existing release? Yeah, first track off our upcoming EP called Hundred Horsepower Mind - in the studio with Matt Gio to do the rest of it shortly. The lads are amped for it.
What was inspiring you during the song's writing and recording? Sonically we wanted a big driving song with a West Aussie feel. Joel was instrumental getting it in its current form. It was just a buzz being in the studio together.
We'll like this song if we like... Oasis, The La's, The Stone Roses, Jebediah, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, DMAs, The Who, classic Australian rock, big guitar music.
Do you play it differently live? It has an extended outro live with this big chant, unfortunately we cut it out of the final mix as we wanted the song at 3.30.
When and where is your launch/next gig? We've got a few beauties lined up with some great bands, everything's up on the Facebook.
