Artist/Band: Crayon King

Single title? 5 O'Clock

What's the song about? At first, any lazy afternoon, but it's more about trying to forget someone who used to be important to you.

How long did it take to write/record? It took a few months to write all the parts in the song, but it only took a week to record down in Torquay one summer.

Is this track from a forthcoming release/existing release? It is on our EP titled Strange Love. We recorded 5 tracks for the EP down in Torquay in the summer of 2014.

What was inspiring you during the song's writing and recording? All the usual cliche things. Past experiences, past phases, and of course, past loves. Also a thirst to create new and exciting grooves in order to connect with our audience.

We'll like this song if we like... If you like The Doors, Creedence Clearwater Revival and The Cat Empire, you will probably dig this song.

Do you play it differently live? We do a much more moody version live. It's got a much heavier beat and a bit of a darker tone about it.

When and where is your launch/next gig? Our next gig is the 18 March at Compass Pizza on Lygon Street. We want to put on a great show, but also eat some amazing pizza.
