Single title? Midnight Train
What’s the song about? Midnight Train is a hauntingly twisted love song to Melbourne and its battling songwriters.
How long did it take to write/record? Midnight Train was one of those ‘lucky’ songs. I was up late one night, living alongside a train line in the suburbs with good energy coming my way; it basically wrote itself.
Is this track from a forthcoming release/existing release? This is the second single from our album Know Your Destiny, released earlier this year.
What was inspiring you during the song’s writing and recording? The realisation that the sound and songwriting style that was transpiring was something I’d been yearning to uncover for a long time. By no means pioneered, more of a personal accomplishment.
We’ll like this song if we like... Neil Young’s classic 1972 album, Harvest.
Do you play it differently live? Sometimes. Depends on the set-up of the band; what the audience/vibe of the night is dictating; and how many beers I’ve had.
When and where is your launch/next gig? Lazybones Lounge, 19 Jun; The Stag & Hunter Hotel, 20 Jun.
