Single title? Just In Case

What’s the song about? I was reading a book about Bob Dylan’s early years. His lack of cooperation with interviewers inspired the lyrics.

How long did it take to write/record? The song was written and recorded really fast. It was recorded as an afterthought once the main album sessions had been completed; we felt like we needed a good pop song to finish the album.

Is this track from a forthcoming release/existing release? Just In Case is the first official single from our forthcoming album Modern Vintage due for release in late June, produced by John Merchant (Michael Jackson, Bee Gees, Lenny Kravitz, Barbara Streisand).

What was inspiring you during the song’s writing and recording? I was right in the middle of a Game Of Thrones marathon and also reading a Bob Dylan book; it was a weird mix but my mind was buzzing and the inspiration flowed.

We’ll like this song if we like... You will love this if you like catchy melodies, dancing, fat horns and syncopated beats.

Do you play it differently live? Live is a completely different beast for us. Live energy is electric. We try to push the music to the limits. The build-ups are huge, the breakdowns are gentle.

When and where is your launch/next gig? 28 Mar, Hotel Steyne.
