Single title? Day By Day

What's the song about? It's a reflection of my recent dealings with depression, in particular having to live daily with major insecurities about yourself.

How long did it take to write/record? It was written in one sitting in mid-2014 then recorded in February 2015. I recorded the entire album as efficiently as I could as I had a deadline. The launch was just weeks away!

Is this track from a forthcoming release/existing release? Day By Day is from my ten-track debut album, launched in May 2015. I recorded the guitar, bass guitar, drums and vocals on the album. A cellist added the finishing touches.

What was inspiring you during the song's writing and recording? I wrote and recorded the album so that it could be performed live in a four-piece band and sound identical to the recording as I was inspired by visualising myself performing live on stage.

We'll like this song if we like... Wonderwall, Sarah Blasko, Bernard Fanning, Bob Evans.

Do you play it differently live? 99% of the time I plan to stick to the arrangement, but if something different happens on stage I don't worry and just feel it out.

When and where is your launch/next gig? 19 Nov, Freemasons Hotel; 26 Nov, Indi Bar; 27 Nov, Jimmy's Den.
