What's the song about? This track highlights the profound effect natural wilderness can have on the mind, juxtaposed with the negatives of consumer waste.
How long did it take to write/record? We wrote this track over a few sessions in the studio, flicking ideas back and forth between Sabicu and myself over about two months.
What was inspiring you during the song's writing and recording? A particular freshwater snorkelling experience really inspired the idea of nature 'colouring me gold', enlightening and enriching me. Realising how humans as the dominant species seem to disregard how powerful this effect can be.
We'll like this song if we like... You will dig it if you like unique production/lo-fi beats or the sounds of Clever Austin, Bjork, Hawk House.
Do you play it differently live? Played solo, I add percussion and mono synths, with vocal effects. The beat remains pretty true to the recording but with a band its obviously a slightly different vibe.
