The Melbourne duo pokes a bit of fun at the infamous 'We Are The World' single, while also raising a couple of bucks for charity..

For those unaware, back in 1985 a bunch of the world's most prominent musicians – think Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen and the likes – came together to record We Are The World, a choir-featuring anthem used to raise money for those less advantaged in Africa. It became a massive international success, at the time being the fastest-selling American pop single of all time and also the first track to ever go multi-platinum (something which now seems a lot more common, because it is, but it was special at the time). It was a pretty big deal.

It's a track that has since been re-recorded and parodied countless timeless, usually for charity, and the most recent crew to do it are Melbourne duo SHOUSE. The duo, known for their acid-house-like sound, have enlisted a bunch of Australian talent to poke a bit of fun at the infamous single and its whole aesthetic, raising a bunch of money for the Domestic Violence Resource Centre Victoria in the process. The track features names from Client Liaison, HABITS, The Harpoons and a bunch of others, with the guest vocalists (and accompanying choir) taking turns to layer their voice above an airy production which eventually, gains a bit of a house edge (and a ripping sax solo).

There's a bunch of remixes still to come from names including DJ Seinfeld, but in the meantime, watch the clip below and grab the single HERE.
