How would you personally describe shoegaze music? A spinning din.

How did you first discover shoegaze and what drew you in enough to actually perform it? Soon by My Bloody Valentine but I didn't know it was called that. It was that lovely effing racket that comes in to ruin the groove for those poor sods who just wanted to dance.

What seminal album would you offer someone who knew nothing about shoegaze as an introduction and why? Pale Saints' The Comforts of Madness because it has badass bits, and weird bits, and blissful bits, and tender bits, but also catchy bits.

How's the camaraderie and size of the shoegaze scene in Melbourne? The camaraderie is super high as everyone - that I've met anyway - is friendly and cool, plus all the groups have their own thing happening.

The tagline for Roogaze is "The scene that celebrates itself" - what will be the biggest cause for celebration on the night? That it's Andre "Blonde Guy Loving It At The Front" Axver's last night in town before moving to NSW! We'll miss him and will need to find some new legend to come to everyone's shows.

What time are you playing the festival? 9pm, if everything runs smoothly so probably about 11.30pm. Joking...
