What is your store called?

Wah Wah Records

Where are you located?

196 Smith Street Collingwood Melbourne and online here.

Tell us about the people behind the scenes?

I am owner operator and just want to have a chat, listen and a giggle. The far more professional  Aaron and Mia whom have been with me for over 2 years now round out the team- they love a good giggle too but just arent as good as me on that front bless them.

When and why did the store open?

I opened the store in 2019, and i did so because I love music and vinyl specifically and knew I wasn’t going to be John Lennon, or could be fired, I think it was just meant to be.

What do your customers most know you for?

Well you would have to ask them, but hopefully for having a good time and chat about music, sometimes too long on my part.

What is the most popular title you stock at the moment?

I would say Fontaines Dc Romance is giving it a good nudge.

What is the most popular evergreen title?

The classics never die for a reason, so Fleetwood Mac Rumours would be up there

What is the best thing about running a record store in 2025?

First and foremost, listening to vinyl all day, being surrounded by vinyl all day, talking about about vinyl all day…well most of the time. Being introduced to new music by people and hopefully introducing people to new music-  the very cool relationship you share turning each other on to musc, nothing better really.

What is the hardest thing about running a record store in 2025?

Not having weekends and much time off can be hard sometimes but mainly just letting my wife know there will not be a yacht in our future.
