What is the best thing about running a record store in 2025?
The best thing about running a record store at the moment is the diversity of the people that are into records which translates to the current reissued vinyl on our shelves. So many great conversations with people about the sounds they are collecting, we are also fans and we are constantly amazed at the passion of people supporting their scene, We get turned onto artists all the time which means that our range is always evolving. The local scene is great with so many records getting released through small labels we really love supporting them by stocking and playing the releases and showcasing artists with live in store performances and listening parties.
What is the hardest thing about running a record store in 2025?
The hardest thing about running a store is keeping up with new releases and also replacing big sellers as product does sell out from the supplier as a small grass roots store it is a challenge to work with the large companies some times. It is a constant effort keeping second hand gems in the racks we source them locally and dig Japan usually a couple of times a year to keep up an interesting and diverse range.
All of this is a great privilege really and we love what we do it’s not a job but a life style and we will hopefully keep the records spinning for years to come.
