What is the best thing about running a record store in 2025?
Making people happy! Our goal is to offer a diverse selection of music genres, ensuring that there is something for everyone. We are the sole independent record store specialising in new vinyl located north of Brisbane and south of the Sunshine Coast. We provide music lovers residing on the northside of Brisbane with an alternative to traveling to the city or purchasing from large retail chains. It is encouraging to see all generations reengaging with physical music formats and appreciating both classic and contemporary releases.
What is the hardest thing about running a record store in 2025?
Staying current with new releases and anticipating customer preferences is essential. The frequent introduction of new and reissued titles each week poses a significant challenge in determining which items to stock and the appropriate quantities, particularly for a newly established store. Additionally, the profit margin on new vinyl records is relatively low, making it difficult to compete with larger retailers who benefit from bulk purchasing power and can offer sales pricing below our wholesale costs.
