FBI Social turned one, and the loveable half sneaker Randall Stagg from PURPLE SNEAKERS DJs sent off the night with a fun-punch-bang! Manning the decks with pal Craig aka DJ Clockwerk the indie music specialists pulled out a fine streak of hip, new Aussie tunes mixed with old flashbacks.
Booze, some really inappropriate dance moves and some sneaky smiles were shared at the Kings Cross Hotel as each song rolled into the next with a squeal of “oh I fucking love this song!” The set was a mixed bag, the guys playing a melodic meshwork of genres: electro-pop with funky beats dropping and killer bass lines. One second the super cute Gossling was cooing sweet lyrics, the next Ginuwine was calling “let’s do it, my pony”.
PURPLE SNEAKERS DJs do not disappoint. You can understand why they have been so successful, recently touring alongside the Aston Shuffle and their next stop Groovin' the Moo.
