The Observer Hotel combines old world charm, contemporary comfort and style and the atmosphere of a historic and incredibly scenic location. The Rocks are an international tourist attraction, so a high proportion of the clientele are tourists taking in the kaleidoscope of sights, smells and sounds in Sydney’s remarkable harbour, making for a fantastic atmosphere.

The pub features a classical and traditional design, in touch with The Rocks’ unique and popular landscape. It includes an outdoor courtyard with seating, and additional seating down Mills Lane.

The summer menu offers a wide-ranging selection at affordable prices that caters for all, including burgers/wraps, salads, Mexican dishes, steak, seafood, dessert, sides/nibbles and a kids’ menu. The chef is Mark Esplin, owner of The Burger Joint, who has managed to create an award-winning burger at a reasonable price.

There are daily food specials on offer centring mainly on the very popular burgers. The Obby Meal Deals feature daily burger/fish and chips specials for $12 Monday to Thursday, 11am-3pm. This also includes a drink and wine option for an additional $3 to $5 depending on your choice of beverage. Burgers range from $15 to $21, while more expensive mains include Surf & Turf for $31.

Drinks-wise, some of the summer favourites include a refreshing Canadian Club Dry, Bulmers Original Apple Cider, Rekorderlig Strawberry & Lime Cider and more.

The Observer also carries a number of premium craft beers, including Matilda Bay Fat Yak Pale Ale, Ruby Tuesday Amber Ale and more. For the wine connoisseurs, the wine list offers an extensive range catering to all palates.

The Observer has hosted live music every night of the week for the last 20 years, adding to the legendary atmosphere.

A Santa pub-crawl in The Rocks made its way to the Observer! 80 to 100 Santas were in the pub getting crazy.
